These are pictures from our trip to Mexico February 2005.

Sherry & Lonnie at the beach.  Sounds like a good title.
Saturday was a good day for lounging around.  We stayed at the hotel all day, and took advantage of our first A La Carte restaurant.
After relaxing on the beach most of the morning, we decided to wander down to the other end of the beach at the hotel.  On the way back, I tried to snap a few more "great beach pictures."  Unfortunately, the pictures don't do the beach justice.  It was beautiful weather (about 90 degrees each afternoon), with a nice breeze off the water so it didn't get too warm most of the time.
Here's Brian's best friends.  Every day he fed them at least once.  These two cats always hung out in the same area, either on the walkway or just a short distance in the jungle.
By now we were getting used to the whole "lunch thing."  Going with the lounging around idea, it was easier to get lunch at the pool buffet, rather than going into the more elaborate buffets.  The beach buffet was to be avoided, unless it was chicken tacos off the menu.
OK.  So by Saturday I had a little sunburn on my forehead.  But my many weeks at the tanner had paid off.  I had to wear a hat for a day or two, but was soon minus the hat again, and showing off my lack of hair.
Sherry & Stacy getting some sun.
If we were at the pool, we were never far from this bridge, which divides the main pool from the area where the pool bar is.
The main pool.
Only two problems with this picture, the drink is in my right hand, and it's not a Pina Colada.  I told everyone I was gonna get sunburned, except my left hand would be frostbit from the Pina Coladas.
The pool bar is very conveniently located (in the pool).
It's a big pool.

The rooms at the Grand Palladium are grouped into separate buildings, and are very secluded.  While there was construction going on for a new section of the hotel (just visible in this picture), the noise was intermittent and couldn't be heard from our room.

You can see in these pictures from our balcony that the rooms are very secluded, even from the walkways within the resort.

Sherry bought this sculpture of elephants the day before (shopping in Playa del Carmen), so it was an interesting surprise to see that today our towel was in the shape of an elephant.
A view of our room (and Sherry).  Tonight we ate at the Mexican A La Carte restaurant.  Although the reviews ranked it lower than the other four, we found it very good.  And the apple flavored coffee was great.
