Midland County chalked up its seventh traffic fatality of the year in the death Monday of Ernest Wesley Decker, 51, of Averill.
He was killed in a head-on collision of his car and a station wagon on US-10 near Averill, shorly before 6 p.m. Monday, according to the sherriff's department. Coroner A. H. Bradley said that Mr. Decker died at the scene of a skull fracture.(continues)
A painter by trade, Mr. Decker was emplyed by the Dow Chemical Company 32 years. he was a crew leader in the Dow paint shop at the time of his death.

Calista G. Peck Decker
WESTERLO - Mrs. Calista G. Decker, 95, long-time Hiawatha Grange member died on July 27, 2000, at Good Samaritan Lutheran HCC in Delmar.
Mrs. Decker was born in Rennsselaerville on November 1, 1904. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Peck) Gifford.
She was a former bookkeeper for Clifford B. Hannay and Son inc. (sic) in Westerlo, and retired in 1974.
Mrs. Decker was a member of Westerlo Reformed Church and the Hiawatha Grange. "She was a long-time and officer," said Frances Swart of the Hiawatha Grange.
Her husband, Foster Decker died in 1952.
She is survived by a son, James Decker, of Potomac, Md; two grandsons, John S. Decker, of Arlington Va and David F. Decker, of Potomac Md; and a sister, Pearl Kipp, of Binghamton, N.Y.
Funeral services were held at the Westerlo Reformed Church, with burial in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.Source: Bernehistory.org,
