770. Isaac Decker
The evidence of the connection to Peter Decker & Hannah Snook/Shook as his parents is slim. However, much evidence exists on the children and descendents of Isaac Decker and Harriet Wheeler in Salt Lake City, UT. Two children of Isaac and Harriet (Lucy and Clarissa) were each married to Brigham Young.

I am descended from Ira's son Charles N. DECKER who was the only other Decker named in Crissey's "History of Norfolk". He fought in the War of the Rebellion."Norfolk was well represented in this regiment, Rifle Co. E or Infantry Co. F containing the first men to enlist from this town. viz,. ... Charles N. Decker, ...." (p.306)
and "In the Second Regiment, Conn. Heavy Artillery, called the Litchfield County Regiment, a considerable number of Norfolk men enlisted and passed through long and severe service, participating in not less than thirteen engagements, in which several were killed, others wounded and disabled for a time or for life, and many others suffered and died from sickness. The Regiment was enlisted in August 1862, at "Camp Dutton," in Litchfield. Sept 11th was formally mustered into the United States service and on the 15th of September proceeded by rail to Washington....
"Charles N. Decker (also in Co. E, 2nd C. V.) Mustered in Dec. 16, '63. Promoted March 1, '65. Mustered out Aug. 18, '65." (p.308).I have a copy of his wedding announcement in The Winsted Herald. Also a copy of his original [2nd] enlistment papers for 3 years with his signature, dated 16 Dec 1863.
Many years later (1919) he would die in the VA Hospital in Togus, ME.
