My Journey January 2009 Wow. I'm writing this early this month. Well. It's a new year. And a new format. I went back to work on updating pages today to complete the changeover to the new format, and I came to this section. It's about all there is to work on, I completed a couple of other areas today. But there are four years of My Journey entries to worry about, which comes out to forty-eight entries to fix. That's why I put it off bit. Not that it's a big deal, but with the start of 2009, and the need to put in a January entry, this seemed like a good time to do it. So, here I am. For the time being, I am leaving the old entries in the old format, and will just have them come up in a new page. Makes life a little easier. And I like making my life easier. I painted my kitchen. Well, technically, I had it painted by a friend. But it looks much better. I've been putting it off for years. I had the theme for it (coffee), and even collected a couple of coffee themed items for the wall, but could never really decide on the right color for a kitchen with a coffee theme, especially for an old house. Somehow I was never fond of off-white colors for a kitchen, but didn't want anything too dark in a brown color (coffee). So, I settled on Peanut Butter. It seemed really odd walking into Home Depot and asking for a gallon of Peanut Butter, in a semi-gloss. But I really like the look, it's just the color I was looking for and turned out really nice. Now I need to spiffy the place up a bit more, with a couple of shelves in the corner and something nice to cover up the spot where there's no wall because of the size of the waste pipe (it's about 6" wide and is covered with a curtain). I was also plagued with a leaky pipe over my boiler (got it stopped up for now - on the third try), and a malfunctioning dryer (which is now working - sorta). Add to that the snow & cold that never seems to end... and ... well, I am looking forward to Mrytle Beach in February. :)
