December 2008 And so the end of another year. It's had some major ups & downs for me and my family. Off hand... some of the Downs: Dick's cancer. Chris's continued medical problems and hospital stays. Kyle's car problems. The death of Briana's friend. And some of the Ups: Completing my PhD. Kyle's graduation. My graduation (with family) in Minneapolis. My trip to New York (multi-purpose). Ryan competing in cross-country at the state meet, and running a triathlon (not the iron man, but a heck of an achievement). Chris's & Dick's recoveries - they've come a long way. I wasn't sure what to expect out of 2008, but it started with a lot of promise as I defended my dissertation. It proved to be a difficult year, for the country economically, as well as some personal roadblocks to be overcome. As I look forward to 2009, I am once again unsure of what to expect. I'm not expecting any big positive events, hope that the negatives stay away. I just with for a good year.
