My Journey:

 Back

September 2006

As mentioned last month, I look forward to September every year, at least in terms of things settling down.  This year was no exception, as I was able to finally catch my breath and settle into a pattern of normalcy.  Why do I run myself so ragged every summer?  I guess because that is when the opportunities always present themselves, and because the challenge is fun.  But come September I am always looking for a chance to catch up.

So I guess it goes without saying that the big job for this month was to get back on track with the dissertation...  I am getting so tired of having to write about that all the time, but my reality is that it is there and needs to get done.  So I went back on track with getting my research opportunities in line, so that I can move forward to actually sending out surveys.  Even with a reduce number of organizations to survey, it's still hard!  Seems as though nobody wants to give out approval to let outsiders survey their staff...  at least not without going through the highly formalized request process with every one.  I just want to send out a simple survey to a few organizations, compile my research, and be done with it.  Hopefully I am inline to do this with about three places, and shortly I can write about my progress about actually being able to collect survey results.
