My Journey:

 Back
March 2006

There's so little to report.  Seems like I keep writing the same things month after month.  Well... I did move my office at work.  No big news there, except that afterwards there was a mention that I may be moving again.  Like moving my stuff is my favorite thing to do.  I guess it helps you decide what to keep and what to throw away.  I swear I never want to sell my house & move again, but seems like the moving bug has found me in another way.

My usual monthly update on my dissertation.  My draft has been approved and I'm starting the second dissertation course - IRB approval.  If you don't know what that is, no big deal.  Just another formality of dissertation, getting approval before I can send out surveys.  I just keep getting out the dissertation playbook and looking to see what the next play is, what gets me to the next step.  I try not to look too far ahead, and concentrate on one thing at a time.  Then I try to muster up enough energy and ambition to get it done.

Typical update on the bedroom remodel:  the desk is done.  I now have a very nice place to retreat to (in a house where I live alone - ha) in order to such things as write my dissertation.  But I swear, you go up there, close the door, and a marching band could be at my front door and I would never know.  It's almost like I need to put a note on the door, if you see my van out front and I don't answer the door, call my cell phone and I'll be right down.

Upcoming events:  summer is fast approaching and that means conferences and training.  I have made definite plans to once again attend the Cisco Networkers conference in June, again in Las Vegas.  Other than that, it always seems that more things pop up, sometimes unexpectedly.  But maybe this summer will be a little bit easier (stress-wise) than last year.  Time will tell.
