My Journey: |

| Back |
February 2006 Why do I always start by writing about my dissertation? Because it's always there, I guess. I have finished a draft of my proposal, but I have yet to hear back from my mentor that it has been received, let alone that he has read it. More waiting. At least I have it written, for the longest time that was the stumbling block. Well I have until the end of March to have that part approved so that I can finally move into the second of my four dissertation courses. I just want to be done. Hopefully the next phases (at least until the last course) will seem to go more smoothly. Want to be done this year! I've been doing some more genealogy lately, even if it doesn't show. I got into looking into the family of Zachariah Bruyn Decker, who moved to Utah back in the mid 1800s. It has been very fruitful looking into information on many descendents of this man, many of whom stayed in the same area in Utah. This information may not directly show up in the website, but will translate into a more complete family tree. Besides, it gives me something to research for a little while in which I can make consistent steady progress. Speaking of steady progress, I have also been working to put more finishing touches into my third floor bedroom. I've got it to where I can only think of three main things that need be done, the built-in cabinets, the window trim (with the curved windows), and the built-in desk. I'll be tackling the desk soon, and hopefully can use some tax return money to have someone come in and work on the other two. Too much detail work for me to try to accomplish myself.
