A Work in Progress - Second Floor - Bathroom

The bathroom as we first saw it. Notice the 'shelf' over the bathtub. It's my favorite. It's made of two long spikes, nailed into the wall, with a piece of wood trim on it. It holds two Christmas decorations. The shower has been converted into a stall for a stacked washer & dryer - complete with cement in the bottom. This room is gonna take a lot of work.
Well, after Sherry painted the tiles white in this room, and added curtains, nothing much changed. Until Sunday January 18, 2004. This is when I started hearing noised from upstairs, banging, stuff falling. Tiles falling. It seems that with the recent cold weather, Sherry decided to 'uncover' the radiator in this room from its own little box. Turns out it was a little more work than originally thought.

(Hey... I fixed the picture so I'm not sideways anymore.)

Removing the hand-built counter and radiator box (complete with little holes to let the heat try to get out) was quite the chore. With everything tied together (with nails) and the desire to not hurt the radiator or windowsill, it took a bit of careful pursuasion.

Now we have a working radiator in the bathroom to help fight off the cold. It's also a start on the demolition and remodeling that I know is coming someday. At least the shower tiles haven't come off in a while now.
